1. WHY HAVE A GENERAL FUND?
Our church is supported through the General Fund. Every church needs money to operate. We believe the members are the church and that the ministry of the church should be supported solely by the free will offerings of the members and friends. Other than rental income we have no other source of income.
2. WHO GIVES TO THE GENERAL FUND?
Anyone who gives offerings received when the ushers pass a plate or via US Mail or electronic devices. When money is given and is not designated, it all goes into the General Fund.
3. How IS THE GENERAL FUND DEVELOPED?
The Finance Committee coordinates the completion of the annual budget by collecting pertinent operating information from each church Committee Chair. The Finance Committee along with the Treasurer and the Administrative Committee build the budget. The budget is approved by the church in November for the following year.
4. DESIGNATED GIFTS AND THE GENERAL FUND
Designated gifts should be donations made over and above donations for the General Fund. It is critical that our General Fund budget is met each year.
